A WATER-SAVING IDEA IN DEVELOPMENT

Water when
you’re there.
A pause when
you’re not.

Keep your showerhead. Add a little awareness. ShowerPause is a sensor adapter in development, designed to pause water when you step away—and help make conservation part of your everyday routine.

Concept: water flowing

Try the concept. Final design and performance are still being developed.

SMALL PAUSES.
A SHARED PURPOSE.

Why keep water running when nobody is rinsing? Saving water should fit the way we live. The goal is a convenient pause that becomes second nature. A lower bill would be a welcome bonus. What matters most is the water we could save together.

YOUR SHOWERHEAD.
ONE SMALL ADDITION.

Keep the showerhead you have.

The device is designed to connect between your existing showerhead and the pipe coming out of the wall. Your showerhead stays. The adapter adds the sensing and flow control.

Compatibility and installation details will be confirmed as the design develops.

01

Step in.

Step into the rinse zone. The intended response is water when you need it.

02

Step away.

Step out to lather or shampoo. The concept pauses the flow while you are away.

03

Rinse again.

Step back in and the flow resumes. A simple rhythm, designed around your routine.

A LITTLE AWARENESS. AN EVERYDAY HABIT.

A small change.
Made second nature.

Like any new routine, there may be a little experimenting at first. The bigger idea is what happens over time: learning when water flows, becoming more aware of what goes unused, and building a less wasteful showering habit.

WHERE WE ARE TODAY

A prototype. The next step: replication.

We have a prototype. We’re now working toward reproducing it reliably and gathering input from future users. Water savings, lasting behavior change, and comfort still need to be measured in real use. Pricing and availability will follow as the production plan takes shape.

A FEW GOOD
QUESTIONS.
Do I need a new showerhead?+

No. You keep the showerhead you already have. The proposed device sits between it and the pipe coming out of the wall.

How does it work?+

The concept uses a sensor to detect when you are in the rinse zone. Step away while lathering and the flow pauses. Step back in and it resumes. Try the illustration above to see the idea.

Will it fit my shower?+

The goal is an add-on for existing showers. We are still working through connection sizes, clearance, and compatibility, so we cannot confirm specific setups yet.

How much water could I save?+

That depends on how you shower and how often water runs while you are not rinsing. We will measure real-world use before sharing savings estimates.

Could it lower my water bill?+

Potentially. Using less water may reduce your bill, depending on your usage and local rates. But the purpose is bigger than the bill: making it convenient for more people to conserve water together.

Is this about changing how I shower?+

The idea is to make a less wasteful routine feel natural. There may be a learning period at first; over time, we hope the response encourages shorter showers and less unused flow. We will test whether that habit change lasts.

What about water temperature?+

Comfort matters. We need to verify what happens when water pauses and resumes, including temperature consistency. This will be part of prototype testing before a product is offered.

When can I get one?+

We have a prototype and are working toward a design that can be reproduced. Join the interest list for development updates and future testing opportunities. Pricing and availability have not been set, and joining does not place an order.

What happens when I join the list?+

We save your email, shower-setup details, and answers so the project can share relevant updates and understand what matters to potential users. Joining is free, with no payment or purchase commitment. Ask the project organizer if you would like your entry removed.
